On March 19-20, the sixth annual NYC 9-Ball Championship was held at Skyline Billiard Club in Brooklyn, NY. Skyline graciously adds $3,000 each year to this event. One day shy of a year ago, on February 21, Dennis Hatch won a stop on the Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour at Main St. Billiards in Amsterdam, NY. On February 20, 2011, he did it again, at the same location, holding off a double elimination final challenge by Bucky Souvanthong to finish undefeated. On the morning of January 13, 2011 good friend and pool player Walter Demchuk (also know as Moose) passed away. He is survived by his wife Betsy, and his brother Boris. I first met Moose in a Saturday afternoon tournament at "The Fan Sports Bar & Cafe" in Toronto...I think he beat me. He was an entertaining player and always a nice addition to any tournament.
