Chicago, Illinois-  Championship Cloth is proud to announce they have selected Johnny Archer as their new professional spokesperson for their company. The 4x World Champion and BCA Hall of Famer has already been using Championship Cloth on his poolroom tables at the Marietta Billiard Club since last year. Johnny Archer will be appearing this week at the Championship Cloth booth at the Super Billiards Expo, taking on challengers and meeting fans.
“Championship Cloth is a great American manufacturer and supporter of American pool. They make superb professional cloth that seems to last forever and all my customers love it. I’m really happy to represent such a great company and help them continue to support our sport”, said Johnny Archer. Johnny also represents Scorpion Cues and is managed by Dragon Promotions.
“When I heard there was a lack of sponsors and support of American pool and American pool players, I wanted to do something about it. When it came time to select a player, we knew there could only be one choice” , said Fred Cohen, President of Championship LLC.

Archer has been arguably the most successful professional player of the past 2 decades. He has won the US Open 9-Ball, The Derby City 9-Ball, the BCA Open, the World Championships, and countless other titles. Johnny has competed and won titles around the world including  Netherlands, China, Germany, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, England, the United States and many more.

“Johnny Archer is the most celebrated pool player in modern American history. He’s been using our cloth already since last year at his poolroom and transitioned over all his tables to Championship Cloth. So we already knew he believed in our product. But Johnny is a leader on and off the pool table, he symbolizes the epitome of a champion. What better fit then with us, Championship”,  said Mike Serra,Vice-President of Championship Cloth and Chairman of the Billiard Congress of America.

Championship Cloth’s Tour Edition 3030 is superb playing and the longest lasting, now used as the Official Cloth of the Johnny Archer Classic, the World Tournament of 14.1, and the WPA Women’s World 10-Ball Championship and can be found in dozens of pool rooms across America.

Championship  Cloth is a division of D & R Industries, Inc. which began in 1963 in a small apartment in Chicago, Illinois. Through the years, D & R Industries, Inc. went through many changes and expanded into a variety of recreation-oriented businesses, but really found its niche within the billiard industry. After distributing billiard fabrics for more than 25 years, it was clear to D & R that there was a need for affordable high quality billiard fabrics. Thus, a team consisting of engineers, textile experts and old time billiard people worked together to develop what is now known as the “Championship Line” of billiard fabrics. Championship’s expert team of engineers and experts worked for over five years to develop the finest billiard cushion rubber in the industry. A decade later, Championship’s cushion rubber can already be found on the tables of many of today’s major billiard table manufacturers. More recently Championship acquired major billiard supplier MBS Group, which has substantially expanded Championship further. D & R has now been a proud staple of the billiard industry for 50 years providing the finest billiard fabrics, cushion rubber and component parts. Today Championship now sells more billiard fabric than all of its major competitors combined. Please visit www.champbilliards.com and Like us on Facebook atwww.facebook.com/championshipcloth
