If Looks could Kill : The beautiful Xiaofang Fu at the World 10-Ball Championship.Manila, Philippines- Former World 9-Ball Champ Xiaofang Fu of China clinched the #1 seed yesterday at the Yalin World 10-Ball Championship. Fu leads four other top seeded women from China into the third and final stage of the World Championship. Siming Chen (2011 World #1), Sha Sha Liu, Xiue Chen, and Xiaoting Pan make up the other four. Between the 5 Chinese women, they have won 22 matches and lost only 3 so far in the event.
The Dragon Promotions produced 4th Annual Yalin Women's World 10-Ball Championship is the most followed women's event of the year. In the host country of the Philippines, it is the biggest female sporting event of the country. The event is supported by Asian table mammoth Yalin Billiards, advanced cue engineer OB Cues, long lasting Championship Tour Edition Cloth, top playing Aramith Balls, Tour Edition Chalk, and #1 TV network broadcaster ABS-CBN. Star Billiards and Pool & Billiard Magazine are also proud supporters. This year's edition will take place August 20th-24th once again at Robinson's Galleria Mall, which has now become synonymous for creating the dynamic atmosphere of the coveted championship. Robinson's Galleria is connected to the host hotel Crowne Plaza Galleria. With massive media and global networks covering the Yalin Women's World 10-Ball Championship, it will continue as still the biggest and most watched women's billiard event in the world.
Fu took out South Korea's Eunji Erica Park 6-2 in her toughest match. Siming shutout Filipina #2 ranked Iris Ranola 6-0 on route to her group domination, while Pan went undefeated and only challenged by Kajitani of Japan, and then great match on TV with Australia' Lyndal Hulley 6-4 where she miraculously overcame the Aussie who did not miss a single shot in the match.
Though dominant in major championships in China and specifically in 9-Ball, China has yet to win the World 10-Ball. China's best finish has been a Bronze last year with Han Yu, who failed to qualify through the tough group stage this year.
This is the biggest women's sporting event of the year in the Philippines, with the host country featuring the best players from Italy, Japan, China, Canada, Australia, Indonesia, South Korea, Russia, South Africa, India, Iran, Netherlands, Sweden, Venezuela, England, Norway, Taiwan, Austria, and Singapore.
