WPBA Billiard Bash in Niagara Falls

Many of Canada's top female players traveled south of the border to compete in the WPBA Tour Championship the the Seneca Casino in Niagara Falls, NY. The competition was tough as the best in the world were in attendance.
Joanne Ashton came up one game short of victory losing 9-8 to Jeanette Lee in the first round. Our reigning 2010 Canadian 9-Ball champion Naomi Williams was sent home in the fourth round by the #1 WPBA ranked player Jasmin Ouschan with a 9-6 score. Calgary player, Cathy Metzinger bowed out to Jennifer Chen after winning her first three matches.
It was World Junior Champion Brittany Bryant who caught everyone's attention after losing an early heartbreaking match 9-8 to Sarah Rousey. Brittany had wins over Amy Chen (9-2), Nicole Keeney (9-7), Kyoko Sone (9-5), Monica Webb (9-3) and Jennifer Chen (9-5) to earn her first televised appearance in the semi-finals against #4 player Karen Corr. The experienced Karen Corr was too much to handle as she eliminated the young Canadian with a 7-1 score.
The other semi-final had Xiao-Ting Pan and Ga-Young Kim matching up. Both players were undefeated thus far in the tournament. Xiao-Ting Pan won the final rack (7-6) to earn her spot in the finals with Karen Corr. The the finals, Xiao-Ting Pan took advantage of a few errors made by Karen Corr and took the title with a 7-4 score.
