Jul 1, 2018

It was announced in Manila last Wednesday that the World 10-Ball Championship will return to the Philippines 1-7 October 2018. The Championships will feature two events, one for men and the other for women. The WPA are delighted that the 10-Ball World Championships will again feature onto its calendar of events. It is expected that the approximate 200 participants will represent between 35 and 40 countries. The Championships will be staged at the prestigious “City of Dreams” casino-hotel complex which is situated in the Manila Bay area. The complex features two 5 star hotels, the Hyatt and Hotel Nobu.

WPA President Ian Anderson said that it was great to have a major event back in the Philippines, the one time capital for pool sports. History shows that many of the sports finest players have come from the Philippines, and the current 9-Ball World Champion, and Gold Medalist from the last World Games is Filipino Carlo Biado.

The Championships will be covered by a Philippine broadcast network, and all tables will have live video-streaming.

Organisers of the Championships are Raya Sports, Philippine Billiards Congress and Philippines leading media group, the Manila Times. Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte will be invited to present the prizes at a gala dinner which will follow the finals

Further announcements will be made when more information becomes available.
