The Canadian Billiards and Snooker Association needs you!

Call for Volunteers and your Support!

The Canadian Billiards and Snooker Association (CBSA) are now looking for volunteers for all levels of our association. Any person participating in, is a fan of or is involved with Canadian cue sports now is the time to step up and start to work together to make the necessary improvements across this large and great country. This country is too vast to have a true and fairly represented Canadian Championships without your help.
The CBSA also have a few vacancies for directors on the CBSA Board. Once all five directors’ positions are filled then there will be an inside board meeting to determine what positions the director’s will assume.
The CBSA is also asking for permanent/part time volunteers to help with any of our activities or projects. If someone even wants to give a few hours as a commitment that would be fantastic and it will be put to good use. Volunteers can help with marketing, advertising, product sales, sponsorship, legal, photography, website, Facebook, live streaming, event planning or general duties and it doesn’t matter if it is your area of expertise or not.
Obviously if someone wants to volunteer and they have experience in one of these areas we will focus them in that direction. Volunteering can also include helping in person at one of our events in any way.
The CBSA also needs to have strong provincial associations in order to be the most effective group it can be. The CBSA is not an independent group it is formed from within and governed by the provincial associations. These associations are recognized by the council and which are incorporated as societies or non-profit corporations pursuant to the laws of their jurisdiction. Also, there can only be one association per province but it may have additional committees.
Currently, we need to have these associations that are described above established in the following provinces and territories:
-British Columbia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador have representation by 1 member.
-Ontario and Manitoba only have associations directly representing snooker.
- Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Yukon need representation as well.
The amount of time, money or resources that you are able to give is relatively not that important it is the willingness to help that is the key!
The CBSA is also looking for someone to submit a bid to host the 2016 Canadian Amateur Championships. The deadline for this bid is 15 Jul 15.
If anyone is interested in anything mentioned here please contact myself or any CBSA board member. You can also visit our website for more information!
