Teen named under-14 Eight ball champion

Nicholas Ridley is just 13, but you wouldn’t want to bet against him at a pool hall.
The young teen was recently named the under-14 national eight ball champion after beating out the competition at the 2012 Canadian Eight Ball Championships in Mississauga.
“My goal is to become a professional pool player when I’m older,” says Ridley, who lives in St. Thomas but plays every Friday night with his dad at Strokers Billiards on Springbank Drive. “I love the game. It’s just one of those things.”
His interest in the game was first piqued several years ago when he was staying at his grandmother for the weekend.
