Oct 3, 2017

NYC Qualifier winner Del Sim of Scotland poses with John Schmidt . Sim was delighted to have two huge wins including over reigning World 14.1 Champion Mika Immonen & top USA pro Danny Harriman
New York City-  While some champions had routine wins on Day 1, new faces came with some big wins. The biggest one being newcomer Del Sim who shocked reigning World 14.1 Champion Mika Immonen in a 100-91 victory. This came right off the heels of Sim's 100-54 win over one of America's favorite Danny Harriman. This puts him at the top of his Group 1 thus far at the Bottledeck.net 77th World 14.1.

Filipino sensation Lee Van Corteza looked very strong as he opened up the very first livestream match with a perfect 100 ball & out run over John Schott, who only had the opening break. Van Corteza then defeated 100-69 over Jamaica's Rhys Chen.

Van Corteza shows his 14.1 prowess
Local favorite Jorge Rodriguez ran 97 balls en route to his upset win over 4-Time World 14.1 Champion Thorsten Hohmann in a nailbiter where Hohmann came back at the end but fell short in a 100-86 loss.
Twice 3rd place World 14.1 finisher Max Eberle handed Group 4 leader former World 14.1 Champ John Schmidt a 100-41 defeat and Eberle leads his group with also wins over Scotland's strong Jonni Fulcher and former qualifier winner Noah Vogleman.
2014 World 14.1 Champion Darren Appleton had been on a pool hiatus of not playing, though it did not show in his undefeated run on day 1 over Hunter Lombardo 100-14, Finland's Olli Turkulainen 100-42 and NJ's Ed Culhane 100-12.
