Shooters’ Super 6 Title Claimed by Manny Esteves

During the March 5th weekend, with many pool events going on throughout the GTA, Shooters welcomed 77 players competing in two exciting tournaments. This past weekend Shooters hosted its Amateur 6-Reds Snooker Tournament and its special ‘3-6’ 9-Ball Tournament for a combined prize pool of just under $7,000 for both tournaments.
Shooters’ ‘3-6’ 9-Ball event invited skilled players SL3 to SL6 to race to their handicap +1. 56 players showed up to compete for their share of a prize pool and Calcutta slightly less than $4,000. Who would be Shooters’ next Super 6?
At the end of day 1, 44 players were eliminated and the field was thinned down to 12 players returning for day 2.
A-Side:
Randall Truscott vs Manny Esteves
Steven Barnhardt vs Rob Desutter
B-Side:
Cody Brock vs Chad Bishop
Steven Scobie vs Marco Sevilla
Nick Blancher vs Miller Wage
Nathan Clarke vs Arjun Devarajan
Manny E and Steven B went on to win their respective A-Side matches and would soon faceoff in the hot-seat match. Meanwhile after a couple matches on the B-Side, Chad B and Nick B won the next two matches to face the losers of the A-Side quarterfinals. Randall T defeated Chad B and Nick B advanced to the B-Side semis.
Randall T was determined to get back to the A-Side, and after defeating Nick B 7-4, he was one step closer. In the hot-seat match, Manny E defeated Steven B hill-hill, sending Steven to the B-Side to face Randall. Randall’s determination to get back to the A-Side earned him a spot in the finals after another close hill-hill match, defeating Steven B 7-6. Congrats to Steven Barnhardt his 3rd place finish!
The finals match was set up as a A-Side quarterfinals rematch between Manny Esteves and Randall Truscott. Randall would have to defeat Manny in two consecutive matches to claim the title, but he came up short. Manny won the match 7-4 and his undefeated run in the ‘3-6’ 9-Ball Tournament convincingly earned him Shooters’ Super 6 Title.
