Ryann M Tops Field of 41 in Shooters 404 9-Ball Event

This past weekend, Shooters Snooker Club in Toronto hosted two one-day tournaments on Saturday and Sunday. The amateur tournaments yielded a total of 80 players and over $6,200 in prize money to be paid out. The first event on Saturday, April 9th was Shooters’ 404 Tour Event #8. This 9-ball tournament welcomed players SL 4-13 in its final event before the added money finale on April 30 and May 1. With no cap on skill level, the field was full of talent and set to be an exciting one-day event. 41 players registered to compete for their share of a $2,100 prize pool and $1,540 Calcutta.
After some hard fought matches, the undefeated players remaining on the A-Side were Ryann Malinao, Mario Morra, Jeremy Bolahood, and Dean MacNaughton. On the B-Side, Carlin Sanderson and Jun Briones remained. Ryann defeated Mario in a close 7-9 match and Jeremy defeated Dean 9-6. Over on the B-Side now, Mario defeated Carlin 11-5 and Jun defeated Dean 8-4. Jun’s run would continue as he defeated Mario 8-5 to await the loser of the hot-seat match.
Over in the A-Side finals, Ryann defeated Jeremy, sending him to the B-Side to face Jun. Jun would claim another victory, to set up an all-Filipino Finals! Ryann Malinao defeated Jun Briones 7-4 to stay undefeated and take the title home.

Congratulations to Ryann Malinao for winning Shooters 404 Tour Event #8, and valiant effort by Jun Briones for coming back from the B-Side to claim second. Shooters would like to thank all 41 players who came out to compete in this one-day tournament and all those who came out to watch and support the event.
Just a reminder that the finale of the 404 Tour will take place April 30 and May 1, with added prize pool of 15% from the 8 Tour events held throughout the past several months.
