UK Snooker Champions

The UK Snooker Championships commences on Tuesday 24th November with the final played out on Sunday 6th December and you can get the latest odds on the tournament at BetOnline. Like other top sports this year has been stop start due to COVID 19 however the World Snooker Championships took place in July and August with Ronnie O’Sullivan taking the prize beating Kyren Wilson by 18 to 8 frames in a one sided final.

Attention now turns to the UK Snooker Championships and the top names will be ready to battle it out for the title which has been won by Ronnie O’Sullivan 7 times. O’Sullivan leads the winners list followed by 80’s superstar Steve Davis with 6 wins and then the super Scot Stephen Hendry who won the tournament 5 times.

The up and coming young talent will fancy their chances of doing well in this tournament if Ronnie O’Sullivan isn’t on his ‘A’ game which has happened in recent years, though if Ronnie finds the form that won him the World Championships earlier this year, then it could be a one-sided event.

Title Contenders

Judd Trump is the current favourite to win the UK Snooker Championships at 3/1 (4.0) +300 and is in good form coming into the event. Trump won this tournament back in 2011 but will fancy his chances of navigating through to the later stages and fighting it out in the final to win the event for a 2nd time. In his bright career to date Trump has won 18 major tournaments so when it comes to getting over the line, then Trump is no stranger to the pressure of the final deciding frames. As a player, you’re going to have to play top snooker to beat Trump who is always challenging for titles.

Neil Robertson is another player who is likely to be in amongst the contenders for the title and he has form in this event having won the UK Snooker Championships in 2013 and 2015. The well-reviewed Intertops has all the latest odds on the UK Snooker Championships and Robertson’s odds are 7/1 (8.0) + 700.

Another player who has also won this UK Snooker Championships twice is Mark Selby. The man from Leicester won the event in 2012 and 2016 and needs to return to the form showed when winning the event to capture the title for a 3rd time. Selby hasn’t hit the heights of 2016-2017 when he won back to back World Championships and was pretty much unstoppable on the table. The talent is there so should Selby be in the right frame of mind then he is a serious challenger for the title.

Outsiders

One player to mention at bigger odds is Dung Junhui. The man from Asia has outstanding form in this UK Snooker championships having won the event three times. First was in 2005 and then followed this win in 2009 and then after a 10 year wait, delivered a win last year. As current title holder Ding Junhui was impressive in the final last year against Stephen Maguire winning 10-6 in the final and Intertops has the odds on Ding Junhui to make it a magical 4th win in the tournament. Current odds are 20/1 (21.0) + 2100 for the magician to deliver another win.

The runner up in the World Snooker Championships Kyren Wilson is a lively outsider to go well in this tournament following a huge confidence boost with this performance earlier this year. Wilson now knows how to challenge for a major tournament and will look to go one better than finishing 2nd in the World Snooker Championships and hope to land a major title to end the year in style. At 16/1 (17.0) +1700, he could be a lively outsider in what is likely to be another event with no fans in the auditorium.

Top Pick

With BetOnline having all the odds on the UK Snooker Championship, the top pick for the event is Ronnie O’Sullivan. As 2nd favourite O’Sullivan can upset the favourite Trump and land another great year in his awesome career to win this event for the 8th time.
