Peach almost broke speed record

Nov 8, 2012

Most favourites won their group matches
Daryl Peach (GBR) seems to be following in the footsteps of Tony Drago with his performance. The former 9-ball World Champion defeated Elio Del Sarto (ITA) with 9:4 in 55 minutes and then Elvis Ambord (SUI) 9:0 in unbelievable 27 minutes! Peach seemed to be unstoppable today.
Mateusz Sniegocki (POL)
Polish Mateusz Sniegocki was not much slower than him. He defeated Roman Yaroshenko (RUS) 9:1 and Steve Leisen (LUX) with 9:2 to finish today’s work and can now take a good rest before tomorrow’s double elimination starts. Oliver Ortmann (GER) had to fight a bit more for his merits but in the end won both matches. He seemed to have overcome last night’s tough defeat against Albin Ouschan. Ortmann beat Tobias Bongers (GER) 9:5 and Nico Mobilia (BEL) 9:3 to secure a spot for him among the final 64 players.
Current #1 ranked player Albin Ouschan stumbled in his second match. He defeated Berk Mehmetcik (TNC) 9:5 in the first group match but then fell with 8:9 to dark horse Luca Nicoletti (ITA). The outcome in this group will now depend on the third match. If Mehmetcik wins with a high result, Ouschan could be out.
