Patay Gets his Reveng in Shooters’ 404 Event #7

On March 12, Shooters Snooker Club in Toronto hosted its 404 9-Ball Tour Event #7. The 404 Tour is host to players from all over the GTA, ranging in skill levels, with no maximum handicap. With 38 players registered, this was a one-day event in order to accommodate for the following day’s SL 3-5 8-Ball tournament. This group of Shooters’ regulars, and some new faces, competed all day for their share of a total prize pool and Calcutta of $3,500.
After hours of competition, the field was narrowed down to 8 players:
A-Side:
Ronald Giron vs Mike Patay
Rodel Pinoy vs Art Bertoni
B-Side:
Nathan Clarke vs Kevin Oliviera
Gannon McSween vs Jake Cajilig
Mike P defeated Ronal G in a hill-hill match, 7-6. In the other A-Side match, Art B edged Rodel P 5-5. On the B-Side, Nathan C defeated Kevin O and Jake C defeated Gannon M. Nathan C and Jake C would go on to win their next matches, defeating Ronald G and Rodel P respectively. Nathan continued his hot-streak and defeated Jake 6-0 and awaited the loser of the hot-seat match.
In the hot-seat match, Art B defeated Mike P 5-4, sending Mike to the B-Side. In a close B-Side finals match, Mike won 7-4 and earned his shot at a rematch with Art. Defeating Mike for a second time in a row would be too tough a task for Art, as Mike inevitably got his revenge in a 7-4 double hill match.
 
Congratulations to Mike Patay for winning Shooters 404 Tour Event #7. Well done to Art Bertoni for performing great all day winning every match on the A-Side and falling just short in a hill-hill match against Mike P in the Final!
