McSween Masters Amateur Field

The 8th and last regular Shooters Amateur 9 Ball Event took place on the weekend of April 25 & 26th at Shooters Snooker and Sports Club. When play began a total of 84 players were ready to test their skills against each other in this handicapped event. The 84 player turnout was excellent in light of the fact this event was being played opposite another event where several of the better Amateur tournament regulars were competing against each other.
When play wrapped up on Saturday, Gannon McSween, Isaac Ramos, Jehlar Fernandez, Andy Mizan, Bill Hong, Tom Hogan, Brad Guthrie and Glenn Seeseman had unblemished winning percentages on the ‘A’ side of the draw. On the one loss ‘B’ side, John Timmermans, Cedric Lee, Dylan Ireland, Norm Santos, Ian Argue, Peter Hetherington, Nam Hoang and Andrew Collins managed to survive the long day to return for Sunday play.
In the ‘A’ side final McSween prevailed over Hong sending Hong to the ‘B’ side and McSween to the hot seat. Over on the ‘B’ side, Hong was able to dispatch Guthrie in a very close hill/hill match in the ‘B’ side final to set up a rematch with McSween for the tournament title. In the tournament final Gannon McSween again proved to be the weekend’s hottest player by defeating Bill Hong in another closely contested match.
Congratulations to Gannon McSween on his tournament win. This was just the 3rd appearance in a Shooters tournament for Gannon this season but he appears to be saving his best performances for the year ending events.

The next Shooters Amateur 9 Ball Event and the final event of the season will be held on the May 16th and 17th weekend.
