Magic Wins in Ottawa

Le Skratch Billiards in Ottawa hosted the 1st tour stop for the Quebec/Ontario Challenge on Sept 7/8. This will be the fifth season for this tour as it continues to grow each year. There will be 8 events in each province (Qu/On). The top 32 players from each province will qualify for the Championship Tournament to be held in Quebec at the end of the season.
Forty-two players made the trip to Ottawa, each of them were hoping perform well and get a jump in the point’s race. Local player Roger Miller had a strong showing making his way to the A-side final. Vito Puopolo demonstrated his fine shot making skills sending Roger to the B-side. Roger would have to settle for 3rd as Dave “Magic” McMahon was on a mission.
It was the first time Dave McMahon had made it to the finals in this tour, he would face Vito Puopolo. Vito played Dave earlier in the Tournament, the match took nearly 2 hours with Vito pulling off the win 11-10. This final however was a much quicker pace. Dave got his stroke into gear and took the title with an 11-5 win. Dave pocketed $1000 for 1st, while Vito earned $650 for 2nd. Congratulations to both players…Keep stroking!!
