Kluznik puts Brandenburg behind the 8-Ball

Sep 5, 2012

The 1st event of Behind The 8 Ball was held on September 1st at JJQs Billiards in Mississauga, Ontario. A respectable field of 21 players ducked out of the summer heat to demonstrate their skills.
Justin Kluznik went through the field undefeated. Meeting Kluznik in the finals was Rob Brandenburg. Brandenburg also had an impressive weekend persevering through the one loss bracket after losing to Shay Smith from Guelph.
Kluznik was in the mood from start to finish, beating Jeet Kandhai 5-4, Jindy Bains 5-1, Chris O'Neil 5-0 and Shay Smith 5-2 to earn his spot in the hot seat.
Notable players battling their way through the one loss side included, Gannon McSween, Jeet Kandhai, Eddie Cirasella, Ed Mason, Rob Brandenburg and Chris O'Neil.
Justin Kluznik
Eddie Cirasella finished in 4th place after narrowing losing to Rob Brandenburg 5-4, Shay Smith finished in 3rd place after losing to Brandenburg 5-2. With Kluznik in the hot seat, Brandenburg had to beat him twice to win the Inaugural 1st tour stop. After both players are matching each other winning rack after rack, we were left with both players on the hill. Brandenburg's break came up dry, which left Kluznik a great opportunity to win, making no mistakes on his run out. Kluznik became the champion.
Congratulations to Justin Kluznik on his win. Thank you to all the players that made this event fun and competitive. We look forward to seeing new faces at the next event on September 8th at JJQs.
