Kevin Oliveira: Shooters’ Super 6

As November was coming to an end, pool rooms across Ontario were hosting fantastic events. The Shooters Snooker Club in Toronto held another successful 36 9-ball event, inviting skilled players SL3 to SL6 to race to their handicap +1 in order to compete for a prize pool slightly larger than $2,000, not including the Calcutta.
Over 50 players showed up to compete in this unique event. Unfortunately, the organizers had to cap the field at 48 players because the event was advertised as a one-day event. Shooters would like to thank pool players across Ontario for their continued support and would like to apologize to all those who came out and could not register as one of the first 48 players.
This event brought out the best in each competitor, as the players were at similar playing levels. Kevin Oliveira shot outstanding throughout the day to earn the ‘Super 6’ title. Earlier in the day, Kevin knocked Tom Hogan to the B-side in a close hill-hill battle. Tom fought back by going undefeated on the B-side and would look for revenge against Kevin in the Finals.
Because of the true-double format, Tom had to beat Kevin twice to win the tournament. Tom took down the first match 7-6 to put pressure on Kevin. In the final match of the tournament, Kevin edged Tommy 7-6 and finished the night as Champion. A big congratulations goes out to Kevin Oliveira for his win, and Tom Hogan for the amazing matches. Kevin and Tom played a total of 3 matches this tournament, all of them ending with both players on the hill.

We would like to thank all the players that came out to play and spectate. Organizers were overwhelmed by the response received for this event. Shooters is pleased to see many new faces and increased support throughout its past events.
