KAMUI Tips and Chalk have become a staple item in the world of professional pool. Serious players from all the major pool continents utilize the tip and chalk combo in their daily regimen, including reigning World Tournament of 14.1 Champion Thorsten Hohmann.
"Kamui is very pleased to be a part of the 74th World Tournament and begin our collaboration with Dragon Promotions. We hope our equipment enables the professionals to play straight pool at the highest levels ", said Masato Hiroaka , President of Kamui Brand.
On the tournament side, Eddie Kwok was calm and cool on June 14th at Amsterdam Billiards, as it was obvious to everyone that the experience he gained at last year's NAPL 14.1 World Tournament gave him an edge over the competition this year.Eddie drew up and coming 15 year old Thomas Rice in the first round and beat him convincingly 100-23! Eddie then played close friend and travel partner Ray Remo next as Eddie gave up 5 more points thus match to win 100-28.
In the semifinal match, Eddie faced his biggest threat in the event as he faced off against the other Grandmaster (there were only two Grandmasters in the qualifier) Kapriel Delimelkonoglu. This was Kapriel's first qualifier. He kept up with Eddie in the beginning but after missing at a crucial point, Eddie calmly ran ball after ball taking the match 100-37 to earn a spot in the final!
In the bottom bracket, Cue Bar regular and a friend of Eddie Eugene Ok defeated Joe Wilson Torres 85-50, Andre Ramos 85-67 and Abel Barriento 85-56 to earn the right to play for a spot in the World 14.1!
In the final, both players were neck and neck but after a few missed opportunities by Eugene Ok, Eddie found a consistent rhythm and sailed away with the win 100-48!
Thanks to Charlie Williams, Cindy Lee, Dr. Michael Fedak and Dragon Promotions, Eddie now has a spot to play in the world's most prestigious event!
