GREGORIO SANCHEZ (LA GUAMA) OF VENEZUELA, CHAMPION OF THE II OPEN INTERNATIONAL OF THE AMERICAS 10 BALL

Gregorio Sanchez de Venezuela became champion of the II International Open of the Americas 10 ball in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from September 14 to 16.  Gregorio Sanchez defeated your compatriot Frailin Guanipa 13-9 in a game full of emotion from the beginning to the end.

32 Billiards from different countries took action in the tournament in double elimination in groups of 8, qualifying 16 for simple elimination.



The last 8 finalists in the quarterfinals in simple elimination were Ramon Diaz (Rep Dom.) Vs. Juan Kelner (Rep.Dom),   Rubén Bautista (México) vs. Frailin Guanipa (Venezuela),   Franlin Hernández (USA) vs Rafael Dabreu (Sant vincent),   Gregorio Sánchez (Venezuela) vs. Ricardo Mejía (Rep. Dom).

The 4 Semifinalists in simple elimination were

The final game was between the Venezuelans Freilin Guanipa vs Gregorio Sanchez, this series agreed to 13, created a tremendous tension between the players and the public

Frailin Guanipa after an hour  take advantage 9-4, but after what no one would believe would happen, Gregorio Sanchez won 9 games in a row to win the tournament.
