Gold Medal for Thehu and Kahl as 8-ball competition completed

Aug 9, 2012

Jesse Thehu (NED) and Katja Kahl (GER) have taken the Gold Medals in the Dynamic Billiards European Championships 8-ball discipline.
Thehu defeated Peter Eriksson (SWE) in the final of the seniors division. The match was open until the 9th rack. At 4:4, Thehu gained momentum and won the match with 7:4. Kahl dealt with Wienke Thamsen (GER) in the final match. Thamsen was trailing 3:4 in a race to five racks when she played her last ball and lined the cue ball up for the 8-ball. But she ran out of position and snookered herself so that she had to play a jump shot. She fouled during that attempt which gave ball-in-hand to Kahl with two balls remaining on the table. That was the victory for Kahl.
