Meanwhile, South Korea's other darling Ga Young Kim (GYK) cruised over South America #1 Mirjana Grujicic. Fisher won the first game off a mistake from Cha, even though Fisher missed an early open 8-Ball. Fisher capitalized with another game and held a 2-0 lead. Her first lead over Cha in over 3 years. This seemed to shake the monkey off the back as Cha continued to error and Fisher played better and better. In the end, Cha scratched the white in her last game and gave Fisher an easy 6-2 win. Fisher has now defeated two of her stronger opponents in her group.
GYK could be the first back to back champion of the World 10-Ball
GYK saw an improved Grujicic come back for her 3rd visit to the Worlds. She managed to keep it close at 3-2, before making a crucial mistake on an easy 9-Ball. Kim jumped on the opportunity and proceeded to play flawless and won 6-2. Grujicic still can qualify while GYK remains undefeated and is 2 matches closer to defending her World Championship title.
