Dechaine Takes Turning Stone
Aug 27, 2012
Mike Dechaine has proven the big break still works in 9-Ball and used it to his advantage to win the Turning Stone Classic XIX by defeating Shawn Putnam 13-4 in the final match after Putnam had sent him over to the one-loss side just two rounds earlier by the score of 9-2. "I just could not get past his break" said Putnam, and that was certainly the case. Dechaine was making balls on the break and falling on the one ball with a shot and kept Putnam seated for most of the match.
Mike DechaineThis victory puts Dechaine high on the list of Mosconi Cup candidates and proves his win last year at the Ultimate Ten Ball event in Dallas, Texas was no one-hit wonder. He has been consistent for the past year and this win just caps off a series of high finishes. This week he defeated Raj Hundal (9-8), Rodney Morris (9-8), Matt Krah (9-4), Jason Hubert (9-4), Dennis Hatch (9-8) and Scott Murphy (9-1).
We will be writing and posting a more detailed story of the event later in the week as our travel schedule today does not allow us the time to do so at the moment. Watch for it on the front page later this week. We do wish to thank Lucasi Hybrid cues and the TAP league system for their support. It is due to them that we were able to bring you the free live stream from Accu-Stats and the Live Scoring. We will also be announcing the winner of our AZBilliards Action Challenge then as well.
