Former collegiate champion Dan Louie from the Seattle Washington area is on a tear on the one-loss side at the IBC Western Canadian Open 9-Ball Championships taking place in Calgary, Ontario.
Louie lost to Benny Onyschuk in his third match of the tournament, but has four in a row on the one-loss side. His last two wins came at the expense of Ronnie Wiseman and Earl Strickland. His next match will be against Paul Potier, with the winner guaranteed to finish in 7th place or better.
Other matches on the one-loss side feature Stan Tourangeau vs Edwin Montal, Jeff Kennedy vs Gary Hauck and Mike Vidas vs Onyschuk.
The winners side is now down to four players with Ralf Souquet squaring off against Johnny Archer and Martin Daigle facing Alex Pagulayan. Complete brackets are online as well as pictures from Diana Hoppe who is at the event.
