In the beginning of the match, both players were at eye level with one another. They demonstrated good pool with only a few mistakes in between. However, each mistake was punished directly without mercy by the opponent. After eight racks, the score was tied at 4:4. Then Correia seemed to get momentum and played extremely well, leaving Peeters 7:4 behind in the end.
Correia’s teammate Manuel Pereira (POR) outfought Jesse Thehu (NED) and whitewashed him 7:0 in the same round. Germany’s Frank Willner put Arto Taavila (FIN) out of action with an impressive 7:2 victory. The 10-ball competition will be played to the final today. The final match is scheduled for 19:00 CET.
