Thirty-seven players showed up on November 18th for CHALLENGE DU ST-LAURENT"`. The event boasted a $20,000 added prize fund.
Leading the top half of the 10-Ball bracket was Martin Daigle with wins over Yan Lalonde, Martin Lalonde, Luc Salvas and Patrick Adam. Leading the bottom half of the bracket was Shane Van Boening with wins over Harold Rousseau, Marc Dumoulin, Danny Hewitt and the current Canadian 9-Ball Champion Chris Orme.
Playing for the hot seat was Martin Daigle vs Shane Van Boening but this match was all Shane Van Boening from the start winning easily 11-2 to get the hot seat and sending Daigle to the one lost side.
Waiting for Daigle on the one lost side was Patrick Adam who just came off a 9-6 win over Chris Orme. Martin Daigle earned his re-match with Van Boening with a 9-7 win.
In the finals Shane Van Boening and Martin Daigle traded games until the score was 5-5. Shane then took control winning the next 5 of 6 games. Martin closed the gab to make it 12-11. That wasn't enough, as the final score was 13-11 for Shane.
