Brady Gollan makes housecall at Dr Cues

May 10, 2004

Brady Gollan went undefeated through a field of 96 players to win the Pechauer West Coast Tour stop at Dr Cue Billiards in Shoreline, Wa. The event was a $4000 added stop, thanks to the sponsorship of Pokertropolis.com
The field was full of top Canadian talent and big names took early trips to the left side of the board and to the bleachers. John Horsfall was unable to make it out of round two on the winners side, and Stan Tourangeau was only able to make it one round further before dropping to the left side of the board. Tour points leader Paul Potier was beat by Glenn Atwell on Saturday and then by Tourangeau on Sunday. Atwell and Tourangeau earned $25 and $50 bonuses for these wins.
Brady Gollan started off with a bang by winning fourteen of his first seventeen games to get into the 3rd round. A 7-5 win over Robert Colby was close, but Gollan bounced back with a 7-1 win over Mike Vidas to close out his Saturday matches. Sunday started with a close 9-7 win over Mike Zimmerman, followed up by a 9-4 win over Glenn Atwell who was ranked #3 on the tour coming into this event. That left Gollan playing 'Tennessee Tarzan' Mike Massey for the hot-seat and Gollan came through with a 9-6 win.
On the one loss side, Massey found Atwell waiting. Atwell had eliminated Tourangeau and Zimmerman, and wanted nothing other than a rematch with Gollan in the finals. Atwell earned that rematch with a 9-5 win over Massey to set up the single elimination extended final match.
Two tournaments ago, Atwell had faced Horsfall in the finals and fell way behind out of the game. He dug down and tied that match at 10-10, but lost 13-11. This time, Atwell once again fell behind early. Gollan raced to an 8-2 lead, only to watch Atwell come back to take the lead at 11-10. Unfortunately for Atwell, that was as far as he would get. Gollan won the next three games for the 13-11 victory.
Gollan collected $1800 for first, while Atwell settled for $1100 for second. Massey and Zimmerman filled out the top four spots.
The Pechauer West Coast Tour will be at The Jointed Cue in Sacramento California on June 26th - 27th for another $4000 added Pokertropolis.com event.
