Attard Qualifies for Canadian Championships

Nov 24, 2001

On Nov 24/25, Raxx Bar & Grill in London hosted the 3rd OBSA 9-Ball qualifier for the 2002 Canadian Championships. Thirty-four players came out for this double elimination event, but only the first place finisher would earn the spot with a value of $475.
Mike Nash played very well to beat Rocco Cirano in the A-Side finals. Rocco would now face Andrew Attard in the B-side finals. Andrew had lost his first round match and grinded his way through the B-side. Rocco played great pool throughout the weekend but Andrew managed to come out on top 9-7.
It was Andrew Attard and Mike Nash in the finals. Both players seemed to be a little uncomfortable in the beginning of this race to 11. But with the score 3-3 Andrew got into gear. He cruised on to a 11-5 victory. Handing Mike Nash his second 2nd place finish in three events. The Canadian Championships are tentatively scheduled to be held in Quebec next June.
