Another Milestone for Gene Lew

Gene Lew has changed the face of billiards in Canada. Many of you may remember that Gene promoted the Canadian Masters world ranking snooker tournament at Minkler Auditorium in Seneca College. At the time, this was the first and only ranking tournament held outside of the UK.

In 1978, Gene opened Le Spot Billiards which quickly became Le Spot to be. Le Spot
In 1985, Gene convinced the City of Toronto to amend their By-Law allowing poolrooms to stay open for 24 hours.
In 1990, Gene opened Blues and Cues, another great concept combining billiard and live music. "We stand on his shoulders as we continue to strive and keep our game alive and thriving in honor of people like him, who has given back selflessly, we acknowledge it and appreciate it", said Patrick Guigui from Snooker Canada.
