Amit took an early 2-0 lead in the main event match. But Bi came back to make a match out of it which was expected. The former Chinese snooker professional was an even match for Amit on paper.Amit, a Gold and Bronze Medalist at the Worlds, finished her off though at a 6-4 win. This was the round robin stage so there will still be 4 more matches left to play for both champions.
"After all of these years of being in the news daily in the Philippines during the World 10-Ball Championships, I still am not used to all the pressure and publicity", admitted Amit.
Amit is joined in the World Championships with her compatriots Iris Ranola, 14 year old sensation Cheska Centeno, and 16 year olf Gillian Go. The latter 3 won qualifiers the days leading upto the Worlds. Amit was directly invited to represent Philippines as the #1 player in the nation.
The YALIN Women's World Championship is a recognized World Title event by the WPA World Pool Association.
