Wallner sneaks into the last 32 single elimination
Johann Wallner (AUT) eliminated Sascha Manojlovic (SUI) from the 8-ball competition with a 7:4 victory in the loser’s qualification round. Wallner did not start well into today’s 8-ball competition at the Dynamic Billiards European Championships for Seniors and Ladies. He lost his first match 7:6 against Portuguese superstar player and multiple European Champion Henrique Correia. That must have been some kind of wake-up call for the Austrian. He was so close to defeat the big gun here. However, Wallner won his next two matches over Julien Livens (BEL) with 7:5 and Sascha Manojlovic (SUI) with 7:4 in order to get back in the ring. He will now be drawn into the final 32 players’ single elimination stage which starts at 18:00 CET.

Another head-to-head shootout took place between David Plattner (SUI) and Stefano Bazzana (ITA). They went from 0:0 to 6:6 all the way without one of them getting a two-rack lead over the opponent at any time. It was Bazzana in the end to pocket the “golden 8-ball” and win the match 7:6. Bazzana will join Wallner in the round of the last 32 players while Plattner has to wait for the 9-ball competition to begin tomorrow.
The event is hosted by the European Governing Body for Pool, the European Pocket Billiard Federation (EPBF) and organized by International Billiard Promotion (IBP). For further information and reference please go to the federation website www.epconline.eu , follow us on
