In order to participate on a team, each player on the team must already have been qualified for the 2014 or 2015 NAPA Nationals. Shooters do not have to have played together, previously as a team. Shooters can form their own teams. The only requirement, when forming your teams, is that all shooters on the same team MUST play for the same League Operator in the same territory.
All shooter skill levels, on the day of August 15, 2014, will be applied to each team's roster.
NAPA reserves the right to change a shooter's SL at any time before, during, and after the event.
The No Limit Championship and the Standard Limit Championship will have their own prize funds independent of each other.
The winning teams from both events will play in a no limit match for the rights to The Gary Smith Cup.
STANDARD LIMIT CHAMPIONSHIP RULES:
For the Standard Limit Team Championships, each team MUST have a minimum of three (3) shooters on their roster and can have up to a maximum of five (5) shooters on their roster. All teams must be able to field three shooters, under the 195 SL limit during all of their matches throughout the tournament. For example, fielding player #1 with a SL of 98, and then fielding player #2 with a SL of 97, then purposely forfeiting the third match will be illegal. If a team is unable to field a third player, the entire match will be forfeited in
favor of the opposing team. Player’s skill levels will not fluctuate during the tournament.
Match races will be the same as your regular league play.
Each team must have ONE designated team captain. The team captain, and ONLY the team captain, will be NAPA’s point of contact regarding any tournament logistics.
NO LIMIT CHAMPIONSHIP RULES:
For the No Limit Team Championships, each team MUST have a minimum of three (3) shooters on their roster and can have up to a maximum of five (5) shooters on their roster. The skill level of all players on the team will not be counted against the team as this is a “No Limit” championship. Player’s skill levels will not fluctuate during the tournament.
Match races will be the same as your regular league play.
Each team must have ONE designated team captain. The team captain, and ONLY the team captain, will be NAPA’s point of contact regarding any tournament logistics.
SCOTCH DOUBLES CHAMPIONSHIP RULES:
All teams must have two players on their roster. Gender of the players does not matter. All players on a team must have at least 12 NAPA matches played in NAPA prior to the August 15, 2014.
NAPA will assign a skill level to each team. The skill level for each teams is determined by the combined sum of both player’s skill levels in NAPA 8ball, divided by two (2). The formula is as follows SL+SL/2. So, if one player has a skill level of 85 and his/her teammate has a skill level of 37, the team skill level will be a 61 (85+37/2). If at any time a team’s skill level does not equate to a whole number, NAPA will round up the team’s skill level to the nearest whole number. Team skill levels will not fluctuate during the event.
The combined skill levels of both players on a team can not have a sum greater than 179. For example, if player A has a skill level of 90 and player B has a skill level of 91, these two players cannot play on the same team as the sum of their skill levels is higher than 179.
The number of timeouts a team is allowed to have during each game based on the skill level of the lowest skill leveled player on the team. For example, if, on a team player A has a skill level of 90 and player B has a skill level of 42, then that team would be allowed the number of timeouts based on player B’s skill level. In this case, based on the grid below, they would be allowed one (1) timeout per game. All other coaching rules, in the NAPA Official rules apply.
