2011 Canadian Champions Are Crowned
Jun 17, 2011
After 11 days of hard fought competition, the dust has settled and the writing is on the wall. From the very first break, to the last ball pocketed, the CBSA and the staff at Shooters Snooker & Sports Club have kept hundreds of players entertained with world class pool and snooker.
In the ladies events, it was no surprise to see Brittany and Naomi reaching the finals in both the 9-ball and 10-ball open. Hanna Kwan marched through the amateur 8-ball event without losing a match. Jeff Robson looked very impressive as he emerged as the newest junior 9-ball champion and no one could keep up to the quick pace of Alfonso Haggerty in the men`s amateur 9-ball.
In the 8-Ball open, Alain Martel won his forth national title over Harvey Shognosh. Edwin Montal won his second 9-ball title. Jason Klatt captured the 10-ball title with a 13-11 win over former world champion Alex Pagulayan.
In the seniors snooker event, Kristal `Cookie` McLeod from Nova Scotia got all the cookies. Alex Pagulayan proved that he can see further than a 9-foot pool table as he white-washed Floyd Ziegler 6-0 in the finals of the open snooker.
